Young Heroes

brand development, brand identity, nonprofit, web design

To create a meaningful brand for a children’s nonprofit means breaking through the global competition to develop messaging and visuals that capture its culture.

Located in Swaziland, Africa, Young Heroes provides financial, medical, educational and psychosocial support for HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children. Young Heroes’ visual branding was overhauled with a focus on powerful, commissioned photography. The website was redesigned for a responsive environment. The donation process was streamlined providing donors with a smoother experience and more options to give.

Swaziland is a monarchy of rich customs, traditions and beliefs. The graphics, photography, patterns and colors support those qualities using the country’s flag and medals as inspiration, and create a sense of heroism for both the children and their sponsors. The style guide was conceived as short and easy-to-follow to be used in-country, as well as for deliverables produced in the US – including social media streams and videos.
